A love for sleep unfortunately, isn’t the only thing you need to become this type of researcher. You’ll also need a love for numbers, a Bachelor of Science specialising in applied maths, and a PhD in behavioural science.
Once qualified, the job involves conducting experiments on humans and animals into sleep and fatigue, crunching numbers, and writing up papers for publication.
The downside is that studying sleep generally means that you’re not getting any. You’d definitely have to get used to working at odd hours!
